A pain specialist treating me for back spasms, chronic pain, fibromyalgia put me on Tizanidine to help with the spasms. The med works wonders on my back. The morphine and Lyrica did nothing for the back spasms. Thanks doc!

I noticed if taken on an empty stomach there would sometimes be hallucinations. I realized the images weren't real but still they were there. The big issue of concern and what prompted me to stop taking this was when my son noticed I would stop breathing when sleeping, like apnea, but occurring only when taking this medication.

I've only been on tizanidine 4 mg for a week, but the effectiveness is amazing compared to cyclobenzaprine. It took me four years of persistence with the VA to finally give me an outside referral to a pain specialist, thanks to the new Veteran's Choice program. The specialist immediately acknowledged my severe spasms from a blunt force trauma the VA insisted wasn't the problem. The spe ... Show Full Comment

I have been taking Tizanidine for several years now. The effective works well for the spasms in my legs and lower back. However, I started with the 2mg, slowly had increased to 4mg a day, now I up to 8mgs a day. Legs issues aren't getting a better. But this medicine does make my day and night a lot better than without it.

My lower and upper back is my problem. Without this med, it's hard for me to lay down in any position and rest because of the pain. WITH this med, it relaxes my muscles to where I can actually get some rest without as much pain...and I've been on it for a few years now. It still works for me. I couldn't rest good without it.
