I have used Allegra for a decade to control and minimize my system's allergic reaction to everything from trees to grasses and from cats to dogs and from mites to mildew-- I'm allergic to everything it seems at times! :-) Allegra 180 has been extremely effective for me, although I do supplement periodically with antihistimine eyedrops and/or a nasal steroid. That said, when pollen and ragweed c...

I had a severe allergic reaction to a 180 mg Kirkland brand (Aller-Fex) that my friend gave me to try because my allergies were so bad this year and the other medications I had been taking weren't working. I immediately started sweating and I felt dizzy. Shortly after, my tongue started swelling and I had shortness of breath. Luckily I was able to get to an Urgent Care Facility and they took me in...

I usually take Claritin, but it wasn't working this year. I tried Allegra for three days, it did not stop the sneezing or runny nose. By day two I felt down in the dumps, by day three I had major tingling on top of my head and extreme anxiety and anger. It made me unbalanced driving and all I could think about was how irritating EVERYONE was. I am normally very happy and energetic. Yesterday was my third dose and I hope this feeling goes away ASAP! Hate this medication!

By the time my itchy eyes and watery nose started getting better I was in a deep depression. After five days I stopped using this drug and the depression went away within a week. PLEASE watch out if you take this.

seeing as how throat Irriation and coughs so hard you almost black out, are sides effects make this drug pretty worthless. Add in the fact I have to take this drug twice a day to have ANY effect (thats 2 180mg pills) First chance I get I'm going back to Claritin.

I have terrible allergies and I love doing things outdoors. I tried Allegra OTC but it did nothing for my runny nose and sneezing. I also experienced severe dizziness while hiking, which has never happened and made me nervous. For the cost and side affects, and the fact that it didn't help, it's not worth it.

I bought a box of these otc and i wasn't impressed. They work for a while for sneezing, but my eyes still itch my nose still runs. For the price they charge for 5 of them, they should be miracle pills for all your allergy symtoms. Wiill not buy them again. Extremely disapointed.

Allegra has been great, but I think I may be becoming resistant to it. I used to only take it occasionally, but started gradually taking it daily. I started having vertigo (rolling over to left side in bed, mostly) that has lasted almost 2 weeks. Because of seeing my MD and a post on Allegra that explained that the person was dizzy from it, I am going to try Zyrtec for awhile. My doc said many of his patients switch between these 2 meds with success.

I am very sensitive to medications and took one pill one time at bedtime. I had a "tripping" experience..dizziness, chills, sweats, heart racing after awaking 2 hours after taking it. Obviously I won't be taking this again

My cough startd a couple of days befor Christmas 2010; I called my PCP and he called prescribed a 10 day treatmnt of antibiotic and a tiny pill for the cough; ten days came and went I still had th cough; had appointment with PCP 6 Jan 2011 - prescribed Allegra -the description said that it worked within an hour; an hour went and it was the next day, took a second - my cough is just as bad as when I went to see my PCP. I don't what could possibly be causing the cough which if so forceful that it causes a "dry heaves" and the cough last from a few seconds to five minutes or more. Read More Read Less

I started taking Allegra 10 years ago and it worked very well. However, I had to stop taking it when I became unemployed. I now have medical insurance again, but the insurance company will not pay for it. I am now forced to take the generic brand of Allegra. I don't know if it is going to work the same way.

After being on this medication for about 2-weeks, I have been bothered by almost daily nausea, dizzyness and sleeplessness. I am also disappointed in it's effectiveness, over the counter Benedryl worked better. After reading these reviews, I am discontinuing use to see if these side effects go away.
