I have taken Miralax daily for over 10 years. My life before Miralax was miserable. Hard stools, hours in the bathroom, and many days between bowel movements. It got so bad that I would actually black out when the pain got so bad. I hope Miralax never goes away. I've tried every other stool softner, fiber supplement, etc. They taste bad, and have no impact. Miralax mixes easily into my morni...

JUST AFTER USING THIS PRODUCT FOR THE FIRST TIME, MY GRANDSON AGE 3 WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEPHROTIS SYNDROME. EVERY TIME I'VE USED IT SINCE HE'S BECAME ILL HE BECOMES PUFFY. I WONDER, DID THE MIRALAX SOMEHOW BRING THIS CONDITION ON? HE WAS PERFECTLEY HEALTHY BEFORE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SOME CONSTAPATION. HE'S BEEN SICK FOR THREE MONTHS NOW. This drug was a life saver for me, who was facing a reversible diverting colostomy surgery. I was expecting to have to "clean out" by using another drug, called "Go Lytely", but when my nurse came in with this powder and a glass of ginger ale...I felt more at ease. It was a choice of having something like 3 ounces of powder in 12 ounces of ginger ale, as compared to about a quart or so of Go Lytely, and I have a weak stomach anyways.G

Tried other OTC under DR's supervision for over a year - none worked like this. Mira means miracle to me.

I have used this for chronic constipation for almost a year now. It works great. It completely disolves, so you can put it in anything and you won't taste it!

My 5 year old daughter was diagnosed with Chronic Constipation and has been on Miralax for about 2 1/2 weeks now and her BM's have become largr, softer and much more frequent. It's kid friendly and easy for me to hide in 8oz of chocolate milk, hot chocolate, orange juice etc.

I get satisfactory results with 1/3 to 1/2 normal dosage. Much better than fiber or veg laxatives.

I have noted no difference after being on this for one week. I still have BMs every 4 or 5 days.

This medication has made me seriously ill. I did not realize at first it was the laxative. AFter taking it I would bloat up and get a bad headache. Then I would break out in horrible sweats, experience extreme lower back and leg pain. Every muscle in body felt like I had been beaten and I would be so weak it would take a couple days to get my strength back. Just because it is OTC does not mean your body can handle it!

My daughter 8 - has dealt with chronic constipation - to the point that she felt nauseas every time we had a meal. WE did a clean out as the doctor prescribed and it wroked. She feels so much better. Now just take it once a week to keep things moving. (As for previous commenter - talk to doctor about mineral oil. Little ones can hold it in because it hurts to go. Mineral oil is not abosorbed by the body and makes it easier to go.)
