I had bronchitis that kept me coughing for so long, I couldn't sleep at night and my lungs were in such spasm, nothing worked. Finally, I was given the combo of this syrup with an inhaler of albuterol, and I could breath and sleep again freely. It is the only thing that relaxed me AND my lungs/chest.

I've had a number of doctors prescribe this for me and it has never stopped my coughing (except for about 15 minutes). It drugs me so much that I can't function, so I can't take it during the daytime...It isn't even good as far as knocking me out, because I still wake up coughing very hard, every 30 minutes or so. The doctor just prescribed it for me 2 days ago and am now waiting to call him fir...

This drug was worthless to me for my cough and for my sever nasal congestion. Will make sure my doctor does NOT prescribe this for me.

Itchy lungs and coughing were why I sought treatment. I managed to get to sleep and the itchiness is greatly reduced, but after only one dose, I woke with a sore throat and a lot of phlegm (which is now causing me to cough). Pamphlet states to call Doctor if a sore throat is encountered.

Best cough suppressant in the world. I had to switch doctors due to insurance and my new doctor had never heard of it which shocked me. Everything over the counter interacts with medication I am currently taking. My old doctor prescribed this to me. Codeine is the best cough suppressant I have ever tried. The added Promethazine to is an anti-emetic which helps with the nausea or motion sickness codeine can have on a small fraction of people. If you have to go to the doctor for something to do with a cough have them prescribe this to you. Make sure you check the effects of codeine though, it does many things besides slowing a cough, it can also slow your breathing down. Which is not a bad thing unless you have a problem with that already.Read More Read Less

Very severe coughing sometimes lost of breath, sometimes slow down breathing. Very careful because I had STENTS, Dr. said it's OK to take PROMETH/COD 6.5MG/10MG, so I did took 1-tspn and coughing is cured, not even 2-hours ago and I am feeling creatful.

Ive been taking this when needed for 3 years due to an ongoing cough that my doctor hasnt been able to figure out. I have had this cough for almost 10 years on and off, lasting almost 3-4 months at a time. This medication worked great for the most part. A little drowsy, but helped the cough. Recently hasnt been working for me and my doctor gave me a new prescription for Hydromet.

Have been taking this medicine for about 4 days now. It works for the most part at relieving my cough, but I still have a slight cough from a post-nasal drip. Really glad that I have this syrup now because I can actually sleep through the night.

Didn't come with a measuring device, so I used a robitussin cup and tried to convert mls to the correct number of tsps. Made me a little sleepy and lessened the cough slightly...still woke up coughing throughout the night. Worked a little better than Robitussin DM syrup which did nothing for my cough.
