The first 3 months of this drug definitely helped my RLS, but created nausea and hallucinations (flowers on the curtains jumping off curtains). I stuck it out though. 5 years later I still take the same dose but no longer have side effects. Definitely worth it in the long run.

I've been taking Pramipexole for RLS for about 2 months now. My dr will only let me take it at night because of his fear of side effects. I shake throughout the day and sometimes have symptoms of RLS throughout the day. At night it seems my legs get worse. My wife wakes me up just about every other night because my feet "dog paddle" while I'm half asleep or fully asleep. Sinemet made me sick to my stomach and Requip made my RLS worse! Any one know how to convince the dr that I'm not insane?

I HAVE SEVERE RLS AND TAKE PRAMIPEXOLE 1.5MG THREE TIMES A DAY. I HAVE BEEN TAKING THIS RX FOR ABOUT TWO MONTHS. THE FIRST 3 WEEKS WERE WONDERFUL WITH NO SPASAMS OR PAIN AT ALL, THE GRADUALLY IT ALL CAME BACK. MY WORSE TIMES ARE BETWEEN 4-6AM, 3-5 IN THE AFTERNOON AND 10-12 AT NIGHT. MY ONLY RELIEF DURING THOSE PERIODS IS TO WALK AROUND, WHICH HELPS THAT PAIN BUT NOT THE SPASAMS. I WAS ON REQUIP FOR ABOUT 5+ YEARS BEFORE THAT. NOW MY KNEES ARE VERY STIFF(I HAVE HAD BOTH KNEES REPLACED) BUT THE PAIN i HAVE KNOW IS DIGGERENT, DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEMS? ANY SUGGESTIONS? I WOULD CERTAINLY APPRECIATE ANY INSIGHT YOU CAN GIVE ME. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.Read More Read Less

Every single time I try to take this medication, I get hiccups that last for HOURS! It is terrible...and I get very sleepy. My dr. prescribed it to me for pain in my legs and restless leg syndrome. I cannot use it even for one dose!

I use it for restless legs. If I take it early, it works. If I wait too long after my legs start jumping, it takes too long to work.

I've had RLS for 57 years. Had it before it had a name. I have a severe case of it, also in my arms at times and this drug helps some of the time. I combine it with Norco. These seem to be the only two meds I've tried that have any affect on my RLS at all. I've noticed that I do have severe cramping of the fingers, legs and feet almost everynight, which now keeps me as awake as the RLS does. I only take the pill at night, 2 hrs before bedtime. Does anyone else get the cramping from Pramipexole? My dose is 1.5 mg. I'd like to take more because my RLS bothers me during the day as well, while quilting or working on the computer, but I'm afraid to be cramped up all day as well.Read More Read Less

I only took this drug once and am afraid to take it again. I had severe dizziness and it affected my eyesight -- felt like my eyes were a camera lens opening and closing, along with a yellow halo around the edges. I don't remember going to sleep. Had depression the next day. I don't see any pictures of this drug and am wondering if I received the wrong medication. It is a small blue pill with P2 embed on one side.

I am a 71-yr old who has used Mirapex for 5+ years and t6he results were 100%. My doctor cannot give me samples and I cannot pay for Mirapex so I was changed to Ropinirol (generic for Requip) - which I hate. It is effective only some of the time. I am now having RLS earlier in the day than ever in my life. Has anyone had good results with any drug other than Mirapex? HELP!!!!

I've had RLS for 35 yrs. Mirapex works like a charm, a miracle drug. Tried Pramipexole, the generic for Mirapex. Although the Pramipexole is made with the same base and should be the same as the name brand, it didn't work as well for me. I had trouble sleeping and felt some (very little) discomfort in my legs. I exchanged the generic for the name brand and my results returned to 100%. Perfect sleep without pain. Was the lack of success with the generic my imagination? Was additional stress causing my sleeplessness? Not sure. Wondering if others experienced lack of effectiveness when switched to generic. Maybe I should give the generic another try.Read More Read Less

I have had restless legs for about 30 years, so far this medication is helping my legs, I had taken it several years ago, had to change due to head and hand shaking. But it is the only medication left that is helping the legs, so far the shaking is not to bad. I also take premidone for the shaking, which helps.

Can you take this medication when attempting to get pregnant or when pregnant? What are the risks to a fetus while on this medication?

Before taking medication , I could lay awake 2 to 7 hours a night and maybe get 1 to 2 hours of sleep every night I hated to go to bed . Now after one month on the medication I easily sleep 6 hours to 8 per night . Only pill an hour before bed , and it has been life changing .
