I have Bi-Lateral Meniere's disease. The glands that control the fluids in my body have died. So, without some type of diuretic, I swell huge! I can retain huge huge amounts of water and never urinate. without, I can drink a 12 pak of Coke on maybe pee once for the entire day. So, getting rid of fluid is paramount for me. I now take 160mg (2 80mg pills) of Lasix plus Zaroxolyn 2.5mg. But, my major problem now is that I rid myself of Potassium at an alarming rate - Atrium-Fibulation twice and landed in the Hospital - Heart raced at over 150-175 bpm and had a Cardio-Version. 2nd time (last week) I caught it in time and only 3 days in hospital. Now, I take 12 K-Dur pills a day. or another words 18,000mg of Potassium per day to combat what Lasix strips from my body just to maintain a 3.9 Potassium level. I urinate all through the day and through the night. I am up at least 4 times a night. 12am, 2am 4am 6am I am not kidding. But, I am not swelled up and no fat feet or fingers or congestive heart failure. The Zaroxolyn 2.5 first and then 30 minutes later the Lasix 160mg in the morning (once). If you really need this medication, it works! I truly have lost 150 lbs on this med! No joke! My liver was failing and it didn't know what to do with excess fluids so it spread all over the body. My weight was 407 lbs. So next time you see an over weight person, don't be so quick to assume! would anyone care to guess the time spent in the potty.

The only thing this medication has done for me is make me go to the bathroom every 20 minutes for about 2 hours after i take it, with no results.

Constantly running to the bathroom for first 2 hours. Upon taking for 2 years developed lower bowel cramps, abdominal pain. Constantly suffer bloat in belly. weight gain.

After 2 hours...It makes you run to thebathroom evert 20 minutes for at least 2 hours. It's annoyng when you travel otherwise it works fine.

I have swelling in my legs, arms, and all over. I get fluid in my lungs. I was prescribed this to help with water retention. It gets rid of the fluid built up on my feet and ankles and makes it easier to breathe. The price I pay for this, is that of weakness, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, muscle cramps, dizziness, and extremem thrist. If I do not take the strong dose, then it is ineffective. So, I believe the outcome is not worth the benefits. I have had to miss work for being sick.

I have been taking this medication for years and it has worked well for me. The only problem I have is it causes me to be super sensitive to any sunlight at all. I went to a dematologist who gave me 85spf sunscreen and it still is not working. I can sit outside in the shade and still break out in a horrible rash. Does anyone have any suggestions? or has anyone had this happen to themselves? Thanks!

This drug has not resolved my problem with fluid retention in my leg. I am pursuing other treatments!

Does it ever lower the Blood pressure?

my problem is that the amount the drs want me to take affect my kidney functions, after reading about this drug i wonder why i am taking it as i have gout,diabetes.

I was on the low carb diet and stopped losing weight when I applied this medicine to my regime. The doctor prescribed it because I had numbness in my hands and arms for long periods of time.

It did lessen the fluid retention, but it also caused a medical condition called "PRESSURE URTICARIA" otherwise known as "HIVES". Any pressure on any part of my body caused terrible redness, swelling and itching. For 8 months I suffered every day until the cause was found. This allergic reaction is very rare... less than 1% chance of occurance, and good doctors and pharmacists have no clue what's the cause. This condition should be listed on the drug's information sheet as a side effect.
