Yes this helps with urine flow, that is about it. Here is the amazing part. At the generic price of $204./30 days, the cost of the ingredient is.... $17.50 /mg $17500.00/gram $7,936,250.00/lb, yes folks almost 8 million dollars for a pound. For that you could get 413.35 lbs of gold Illicit drug dealers are selling the wrong stuff on the street, a kilo of this goes for $17,500,000., yes 17...

I've been on the generic tamsulosin HCL for over 6 weeks and I don't have any improvement. Still have major issue with emptying my bladder - my prostate is normal size - this was supposed to help me empty my bladder but nothing after 6 weeks. Is there a difference between the generic and name brand Flomax in terms of effectiveness?

I was prescribed flomax for an enlarged prostate after suffering from prostatitis. The drug definitely helped and did what it was supposed to do. I am also on metoprolol 100mg once daily. The main side effect I've experienced is a severely curved horseshoe shaped erections resulting from peyronies disease.I read it was a side effect but ignored it as flomax did what it was supposed to do.

Symptoms of enlarged prostate were getting worse. I was getting up every 1-2 hours at night and was needing to urinate too often during the day. Started taking the Flomax and by the next morning I noticed a difference. Stream was stronger and bladder was emptying more. Noticed some side effects initially like some dizziness/headache. No retrograde ejaculation or if there was any it was minor. After a few weeks side effects went away. Eventually had the Rezum procedure done. Three weeks after the procedure and I'm urinating better than I have in many years. Still taking the Flomax but I'm told once the prescription is done I should not have to take it anymore. Flomax works quite well and the Rezum procedure seems to be a complete success. Very happy.Read More Read Less

I was given generic form of Flomax and generic form of Avodart. Reading the reviews of these two drugs scared me, so I asked for Cialis 5mg daily. Doctor gave prescription, I had to buy online from Canada for cheap Tadalafil because my insurance won't cover. So far so good.

They gave me this medication while I was admitted to ER and stayed for observation. I immediately got horrible headache, I thought my head will explode. My nose was stuffed, I could not breath. My 2 mm stone was almost in the bladder, so I am not sure if it helped to pass it or not.I passed the stone in the morning. Despite my complains on side effects and request to change the med they were giving me medication in the hospital. On the discharge from the hospital, they told me to take this med for 14 days. I asked again to change it.I did not take it after I left the hosp. Side effects stopped after 24 h of taking the last pill in the hospital. I do not recommend it at all. Read More Read Less

Has definately improved the flow of urine. However, it has resulted in retrograde ejaculation. The sensation is not quite the same and there is visible semen in my urine the next time I empty my bladder.

Took to remedy pbm with difficult and painful urination. Took in combination with other things but this drug appears to cause unique side effects that I did not like. Within one week I had retrograde ejaculation with near-total loss of sensitivity. I'm not sure if the decline in sensitivity was due to something medical or just the psychological effect of the retrograde ejaculation but in any case the result was so wierd for me that I immediately called the urologist who proscribed it and she said Yes this is a common symptom. I hope it's not a permanent thing. I will stop the Flomax immediately. I'd rather have difficulty with urination. Read More Read Less

Have been on Flomax for many years because of chronic prostatitis and repeated infections. It does a decent job of keeping the pipes cleared out, but it greatly interferes with my libido. Noticed problems with it fairly soon, but over the course of several years, it caused complete ED. If I stayed off of it for three or four days, everything worked fine, but, prostate problems began gradually again after being off it. Doctor is now switching me to another med, will give that a try. This works, but the side effects are wrecking my sex life. Read More Read Less

I have been taking Flomax for a month and a half. I also take Paxil for depression and in the past experience short downs from time to time. Since I have been taking Flomax I have been having severe depression and can not kick it. I stopped taking it last night to see what happens. Has anyone else experienced increased depression issues?

I've taken Flomax and later Tamsulosin for 10-12 years. It seemed to work until this past August when I developed Eczema. I was told to stop the Flomax and the symptoms are clearing. I was told it takes up to 6 weeks for the my body to fully get rid of the Flomax and my Eczema is 75% better now. I also had noticed in the past year edema in my legs and swelling in my ankles. Since stopping Flomax those have gone down as well. I also noticed I breathe better so I stopped Claritan and Sudaphed on a fairly daily basis and now just take Sudaphed on rare occasions.Read More Read Less

Difficult to use only because I can't afford it. Taking every other day, as I read one user has good luck with it. It does improve urine flow. VERY concerned about pervasive sexual dysfunction.

Urologically worked fine, but the side effects were horrible. Dizzy, groggy, bad edema in legs and chest, extreme shortness of breath, fatigue. None of my doctors suspected Flomax was the problem. By chance, my supply ran out, I didn't take it for two days, and immediately felt much much better. Got another bottle, took one does, immediately the symptoms returned in spades.
