THIS TABLET GAVE ME MY LIFE BACK virtually overnight. Ive had asthma since 4yr old, and in last 5yrs developed COPD (emphysema). My asthma has worsened to the extent I was using 1 salbutomol inhaler(200 doses)in just 10 days. After taking my first Montelukast Tablet at bedtime, I woke up following morning without any wheezing. I didnt need my salbutomol all day. I was even able to go up and downst...
Symptom: Blurred Vision. I was prescribed Singular for Asthma and in that respect, it was very helpful - my lung capacity was improved as well. But I cannot read for more than 5 minutes as my central vision becomes very blurred. I am an artist and a writer so you can imagine how distraught I was. My eye specialist determine what was causing my blurred vision. I reduced my dosage by half then a qu...

I have been suffering from a chronic cough as a result of a chronic nasal drip as a result of moving across country. I was using a combination of Allegra, Flonase and Mucinex with poor results. Two weeks ago my inner ear filled with fluid. My Dr. prescribed Montelukast and I've been taking it for two weeks. Coughing much less, still use Flonase but stopped the Allegra and Mucinex. I would call the treatment a success.

Allergy testing came back negative but when I kept having cold weather induced asthma my doctor wanted me to try this. I'm already on symbicort & was doing good except cold weather. Well, the montelukestat helped it completely. We had a very cold winter this year & I was totally fine outdoors. Also I don't have any of the side effects some people mentioned, I feel great!!!

To the best of my knowledge, I have experienced none of the side effects mention above. I have had to use my emergency inhaler on very rare occasions but overall I feel the the medication has allowed me to suffer far fewer asthma attacks than when on other meds or using only emergency inhalers.

So far, this was the only asthma medication that works well for me. My asthma is almost a non-existing problem. I rarely use my inhaler. However, it gave me hallucinations, realistic nightmares, suicidal thoughts and tiredness. I still take montelukast because my asthma would make me too sick to get out of bed. I think the good outweighs the bad but I strongly wish I don't have the side effects.

I was on Singular for many years. No other allergy meds helped. Now generic came out and my doctor said I could switch. So far, so good. I have environmental allergies. Mold is one of my majors.

I had severe allergies to pollen and dust that would trigger swollen eyes, runny nose, and asthma attacks. This medicine, combined with Allegra, has my allergies and asthma controlled completely.

When I first started taking this med, I had severe sinus pain for about 2-3 days and then it subsided. I take this medication to control my allergies which have been triggering my asthma. After 3-4 mo.of dealing with constant Asthma attacks, bronchitis, walking pneumonia, this medication has made a huge difference. I still get wheezing every now and then in certain environments but nothing like what I had. I take this pill nightly before bed.

This medication works well for me but it did cause some heartburn for the first couple of months and it continues to cause frequent urination that causes dehydration, so be careful to drink fluids consistently throughout the day.

My son, who is now 15, has taken singular two different times. It is the only drug that can push him through a rough asthma season. BUT after two weeks on it he becomes lethargic and can't concentrate. He has trouble sleeping and has no energy. It is very scary to see this kind of transformation in an active, happy teenager. We do not use this until it is absolutely necessary.

Started taking this medication in July to help with breathing issues, which it did help. After two months I began to have itching and hives. Thought it was shampoo, detergent, heat rash, etc. Couldn't find cause. Called my pharmacist about reactions to this medication. He said it would have happened within the first week, but stop taking it and see if the itching stopped. Two days ago I stopped taking it. Now the hives and itching are going away. Needless to say, I won't take this again. I see other reviews that say this generic for Singulair doesn't work. I have not taken it, so I have no comparison. Will talk to my doctor soon about it.
