THIS TABLET GAVE ME MY LIFE BACK virtually overnight. Ive had asthma since 4yr old, and in last 5yrs developed COPD (emphysema). My asthma has worsened to the extent I was using 1 salbutomol inhaler(200 doses)in just 10 days. After taking my first Montelukast Tablet at bedtime, I woke up following morning without any wheezing. I didnt need my salbutomol all day. I was even able to go up and downst...

Symptom: Blurred Vision. I was prescribed Singular for Asthma and in that respect, it was very helpful - my lung capacity was improved as well. But I cannot read for more than 5 minutes as my central vision becomes very blurred. I am an artist and a writer so you can imagine how distraught I was. My eye specialist determine what was causing my blurred vision. I reduced my dosage by half then a qu...

Has caused dizziness, muscle weakness, and tremors in my hands. I've taken other medicines for breathing without these side effects, so this medicine is not worth taking for me.

The brand worked so well for me. I've been on Glenmark's generic, which was recalled last year for tba and tca traces; and recently I received Dr. Reddy's. I have been suffering from a burning itching pain in my legs after taking this brand. Not sure if I am allergic to one of their filler ingredients or dyes but I am trying to find the TEVA manufactured generic to try. Brand is 180.00/one month supply for me to buy so that is out of the question.

Was given this drug to offset breathing problems due to exposure to mold spores. Absolutely wrong! Mold is bacterial, not viral. Doc was wrong. Issues continued for 4 months. Wish I had had sense to look this up as it was prescribed.

I find myself having suicidal thoughts, to some extent. I also have super blurred vision since I started this treatment. I am lethargic, and have very little desire to do anything. I have a constant upset stomach, and lack of appetite. I feel depressed much of the time. I am considering asking my doctor to take me off of the medicine. I don't know that the side effects are worth it.

I was just this past week (Thursday) put on Singular, I was given this by my pharmacy instead. Almost immediately after taking this, I experience the onset of one of the rare but serious conditions of memory loss/attention span change. It was not simply hindered, I could not focus on anything. My boyfriend spent a near hour trying to hold my attention long enough for me to understand that he was telling me that my attention span (nonexistent as it was) was from the medicine and was in fact listed as rare but a serious side effect. My 15 year old daughter was using Singulair for years with great success to prevent her asthma from flaring up during allergy season. Our insurance company made us switch to montelukast at the end of 2012. By March of 2013 she was struggling so much she had to be put on prednisone to clear it up. She made it through the summer until September when it happened all over again and was given another dose of prednisone. Now, we are in March again and the same thing! As a mother it is my worst nightmare to see how bad my daughter is struggling. It finally hit me that the only change that there has been in the last year is the switch from Singulair to Montelukast. It took until now to realize it! I use to pay $40 for the Singulair but now I am stuck paying $184. I will pay it because I believe I haved saved my daughters life by switching back. I wish her doctors would have recognized this possiblity long ago and I wish the FDA would never approve junk medications such as this!Read More Read Less

I dont know why I'd never heard of this drug but i'm so grateful the specialist prescribed it to me. Ive been on it 2wk now and everyday Im finding I can do more and more before getting breathless or wheezy.Read More Read Less

I was experiencing sever tiredness and shortness of breath. I having been taking this medicine for just under a month and can finally breath normally. I didn't realize what a struggle I was having breathing until the medicine started taking effect and I experienced easy breathing, I am breathing 100% better.

Excellent. I take it twice a day, every 12 hours, about 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. I don't need any inhaler if I take this regularly. Sometimes I get a little bit of a dry mouth, but a lozenge does the trick.

As with many of the previous reviews, I have not seen any benefits to taking this drug. It is like taking a placebo. I plan to ask my MD to put me back on Singulair.

Severe headache and sinus pain. Also water retention and bladder pain. After not taking for 4 days finally feeling better. Intend to notify doctor this medication is not for me! Did nothing for my symptoms; only gave me more problems!

I had to stop using Montelukast because it, UNLIKE Singulaire, cause me to have nightmares. It disrupted my sleep. There is something different from Singulaire in this medication.
