I do not usually have problems with my bowels. I could not pass hard stool after surgical procedure. I tried a generic stool softener the night before but it was not softening the end that needed to come out first. That softener said it would take 12 to 72 hours. I used it yesterday at few minutes past noon, 3 hours later I had horrible horrible cramps that lasted for 15 minutes. It’s past 8am and other than intermittent cramps, I still haven’t been able to go. I get the urge but it’s still so hard and that’s the reason I went to buy a stool softener in the first place. It’s not working for me

I guess everyones body is different. I had no issues taking Dulcolax. No cramps or pain. It took about 24 hours for it to work for me and I don't understand how anyone can expecct something in an hour (or less as one reviewed). I have heard that generally dissatisfied people are the ones that write reviews, so here is a good review.

I am incensed by this substandard, garbage product. I used the suppository and waited as told for 20 minutes. Nothing happened. So I wait another 30 minutes. Again, zilch. It has been 9 hours and nothing has happened BUT whenever I try to use the restroom I have the worst rectal pain I have ever experienced. This product has done nothing to help me and everything to harm me and make my already frustrating experience worse.

I used it after going to the hospital and they prescribed it. I have MS and have severe constipation. I cannot clear my bowels normally. Usually a different suppository worked, but it did not this time. I used it after 8 days' without bowel movement at about 12h00.I could feel something happening after 45min. I still battled, but I am so relieved it worked. Then at about 01h00 the next morning I had severe cramps for 3 hours.. I was in a lot of pain.

I've been constipated ever since I got out of hospital and haven't had complete bowel movements for 6 days. I have tried an other brand of suppository but sadly, it did not work. Mom bought me dulcolax and I was praying to all the gods it would work, and in less than 15 minutes I finally had the urge to empty everything on those 6 days?? still emptying this morning three times til my stomach was completely free from being bloated, I would prefer this over constipation lol

I used to have a bowl movement everyday sometimes twice a day. During my pregnancy i became increasingly constipated and it was real difficult for me to deal with the constipation since i was so used to regular bowl movements. I tried EVERYTHING! Including laxative tea, pills, aloe... everything... i was in so much constipation pain. My boyfrirnd brought this rectal pill for me and after insertion i had the urge right away! This has been on going and when it gets uncontrollably unbearable this is the only thing that helps immediately. However i wish i could fight the urge to go a little longer because i feel it would help more. The box says itll help within 20-60 mins but for me its under five. Downside of it is, once im emptying my bowl, the urge takes a long while to end even though it seems it has all emptied and begin diharrea symptoms ... smh but whats worse? Being backed up or having diharrea? Million dollar question!Read More Read Less

Powerful, worked 20 minutes after I chambered the thing. Left me a little crampy afterward, though.

Having not passed stool for the 3 days that I was in the hospital and having already waited 12 hours over night with the softener, I needed to pass it much sooner than 72 hours. I did some online research and found Dulcolax bisacodyl rectal getting a good rating. I purchased it and was able to pass stool about 25 minutes after taking the suppository. I am feeling much better. I would definitely recommend the product.Read More Read Less
