Been on this med for 5+ years. Has worked well w/the occassional flareup, usually winter months. I know when I miss a dose, pain & stiffness w/minor swelling. Have used Aleve as a substitute & works just as well. Dr. likes Sulindac though, & so does my Ins. Co. Went through about 3 years of bi-annual blood tests to make sure it wasn't causing any liver damage. It wasn't. Had to go off Sulindac for...

I had a knee replacement. and still have trouble with swelling. I was prescribed 200mg 2 x day. The first pill for 2 days was fine, but the second pill each day felt like I actuall had swallowed broken glass. I asked for a different medication and was told to keep taking it with a second prescription for bleeding ulcers. When I read the pamphlet that came with the Suldinac I realized the risk is ...

For the first time I could wake up and grab the coffee pot with one hand, almost a fist! My knees did not quiver decending the stairs, and generally Less pain over all! I was amazed and very very happy.

I was originally prescribed Sulindac to treat gout, which it did very well. It wasn't long before I noticed sulindac was very effective at reducing joint pain due to arthritis. Having tried to wean myself off the drug a few times, it was soon learned that it helped reduce the pain of arthritis so well, it was better to stay on it. Also the gout has no longer been a problem either. Been taking it for 22 years now.

Been on this just over 6 months. I am able to work more and less issues with pain related to Lupus (SLE). Some stomach issues, but if I take it with food no problem at all.

I have been suffering everyday from degenerative disc disease in my C-5 C-6 area of my spine for 2 years. I have pain, numbness, tingling, shoulder pain, and terrible burning headaches. My Dr. prescribed this Sulindac, 200 MG twice a day on 11/18/2010 and I have not had any headaches since. I am practically pain free and amazed. The side effects concern me though.

My Dr. gave me a prescription for this drug because since the I have been getting microvas therapy treatments (that are working great) and for the first time in a few years I am able to walk more. My back gets very painful when I am standing or walking. I am about 2 weeks into the drug and am seeing an improvement. I have MS and diabetes and pain has been "just a way of life". This drug definitly makes it easier as long as I take it with food. This is a very important tip when taking this drug, probably one of the most important.Read More Read Less

It worked okay for a couple days but I was still very aware of my pain. After a few days I started getting a faint tightness in my chest, where my heart is. After a week the tightness became dangerously painful; I almost went to hospital. I really believe I could've had a heart attack/"malfunction" had I continued it;the doctor seemed worried immediately&said I could be allergic. Chest tightness IS a possible side effect due to blood clot. SCARY!!!!

I have Sciatica. It's an irritation of one of the sciatic nerves. I had constant pain in my right leg, numbness also, which was very scary for me. I was taking different kinds of meds,Tylenol 800ml and pain meds. I took this medicine one day and felt better in the very next day. This is only my 2nd day taking it, no side affects,so far. I'm so happy I got a 2nd opinion. I feel 80 percent better than yesterday!

I'm taking this medication for tendonitis. Not only has that alleviated the tendonitis, it has relieved swelling in my rotator cuffs and feet from plantar facititis (sp?). It's early yet, but I'd say it's working wonders for me.

Went through about 3 years of bi-annual blood tests to make sure it wasn't causing any liver damage. It wasn't. Had to go off Sulindac for 10 days before a medical procedure (Sulindac thins the blood)& had a raging headache nearly the entire time. Tylenol XS just took the edge off it. Nasty side effect, for me anyway. Headache went away within hours of resuming dosage. Sulindac is one of the early anti-inflammatory meds. Had sinus surgery done & surgeon was amazed at how quickly swelling & inflammation went down after surgery. (I told him later on.)Read More Read Less
