Been on this med for 5+ years. Has worked well w/the occassional flareup, usually winter months. I know when I miss a dose, pain & stiffness w/minor swelling. Have used Aleve as a substitute & works just as well. Dr. likes Sulindac though, & so does my Ins. Co. Went through about 3 years of bi-annual blood tests to make sure it wasn't causing any liver damage. It wasn't. Had to go off Sulindac for...

I had a knee replacement. and still have trouble with swelling. I was prescribed 200mg 2 x day. The first pill for 2 days was fine, but the second pill each day felt like I actuall had swallowed broken glass. I asked for a different medication and was told to keep taking it with a second prescription for bleeding ulcers. When I read the pamphlet that came with the Suldinac I realized the risk is ...

I was prescribed this drug, along with Tramadol, for a swollen, painful right knee. I am also diabetic and have had trouble with trigger-finger in both index fingers and my left thumb. I had not been able to bend my left thumb in over 2 months. I began taking the drug combo on Saturday and, though I took it with food, I found that they upset my stomach and made me feel very queasy. I almost decided to stop taking the drugs on Monday, when I realized that I could bend my thumb for the first time in over 2 months. The swelling in my knee had gone down and the pain was almost gone. Also, my index fingers, which had been quite painful and always locked prior to my taking these drugs, were now almost fully functional with minimal pain. I tolerate the upset stomach for the benefits of much more mobility. I began physical therapy for my hands on Tuesday after starting the drugs and my therapist was amazed at the change since her first evaluation of me about 2 weeks before.Read More Read Less

Make sure you have food with meds, and drink at least a glass of water. I take mine every 10 hours.

I only take this medicine on an as needed basis, when I have a gout flareup. Always occurs in my right foot/ankle. Usually relieves the pain after 2 days of taking 2 caps a day (200mg).

It worked great for about 6 months then I was having problems with my legs. Going upstairs and riding a bike. I stopped taking it and my legs are functioning normal. Not sure what caused this problem only happy to have found a reason.

Caused minimal stomach issues, however, have only been taking for two weeks. The pain in my knee was noticable when I skipped a day of medication. Could also be caused by colder weather. All in all, seems to be working for my knee and other areas in my lower back and sholders.

I have been taking this medication for about 3 weeks now and see a dramatic effect on my arthritic condition. I have suffered from severe muscle and body pain for the past year and have found this drug to be very effective and am mobile again. It is a wonderful drug, but make sure you are not allergic to sulfur drugs as this is one. But to those who want to try it, Good luck and to those who like using it, God Bless!

I really like this drug, unfortanately I had Rye Syndrome as a teenager and I developed a rash along with itch. But for those that can tolerate aspirin this is a good drug to help with pain. I have an old injury from being in the military and it caused me pain to where I could not walk. This drug helps with the pain and swelling for me.
