I was given this drug after years and years of taking so much other medication, that my esophagus and stomach were in very bad shape. This drug has worked great for me. No problems with any kind of side effects.

Quite simply, no more heartburn at night or during the day. I will know about the actual healing when I go back to the doctor in several months.

This is the best drug on the market, BUT it is VERY expensive. I am glad there is a generic, but it is also VERY expensive. I thought generics were supposed to be cheaper.

I have suffered with GERD and lack of sleep because of it. My daily life was suffering terribly. Finally got this drug and was hesitant because of the cost but am relieved that I am able to pay for it because I now have my life back. This isn't a miracle drug. To obtain no acid at all you still have to watch what you eat and don't eat crazy things at night before bed. Watching my health and what I eat this drug is the only one that I feel saved my life. I only give it 4 stars because the expense. Come on pharmaucticals and insurance go hand and hand at raping Americans for what they need to live. Read More Read Less

I have been taking this medication twice a day for nearly 8 years for Barrett's Esophagus. I will be taking this drug for the rest of my life. I firmly belief this drug has contributed to preventing Esophageal Cancer and has helped to save my life. Fortunately my prescription drug plan helps to defray the expensive cost of this drug. However, I'd get a second job if I had to continue to take Protonix.
