Have taken this for years, literally, since no insurance (come on Medicare) for the "magical purple pill"- it works very well and I start to suffer symptoms by second day of I don't get to the store for more- so it definitely relives symptoms. What amazes me is that it is the main ingredient in the expensive OTC (Prilosec, Zantac etc) and you can buy 200 tablets 150 mg at Walmart for about $7.00. ...
My doctor gave me this to try to help with the heartburn I had developed from apparent GERD, while it did help my heartburn at night while I slept, I noticed it caused me to have more heartburn overall and more frequently, if I missed a dose I would get severe heartburn. Until now I only had heartburn while laying down, now I have heartburn all the time. I wanted to have less heartburn, not take...

It worked for a while I had no symtoms of acid reflux but now it has stopped working and I decided to stop taking it anyway to see if this is was is causing my severe headaches, I seem to have had headaches everyday or every other day since I been on this medication. I wish someone could come up with an acid reducer medication that really works most of the medication only works for a few months and then you have to switch to something else, it's like a nightmare that you are never going to wake up from.Read More Read Less

The hiatus hernia diagnosed were same as those had during to cardiac arrest. To prevent readmission for heartburn symptons I take ranitidine first when occurs . Hopefully won't be another cardiac as single.

I have a severe case of acid reflux. I take the highest dose of Prilosec and started taking Rantindine HCL 300mg as well. Has anyone noticed side effects of an irregular heartbeat or palpitations? Experienced very dry eyes as well.

recently on a random required drug screen for illicit drugs I came back positive with this medication. I had to do yet another per the pharmacist at a VA Hospital and they are going to do further testing to clear me in the future. So is their a compound in there?

I guess I'm one of the few but I had some BAD side effects from this I had the itching, dizzyness, trouble breatheing the whole nine yards. I would have rather put up with the heartburn then what I went through.
