Type 2 Diabetes: Living With the Disease - Surgery

There are no surgeries to treat type 2 diabetes.

Studies indicate that the large weight loss provided by stomach surgery improves blood sugar control in people who are extremely overweight.14 But this is a difficult procedure, and it can only be done on people who meet specific criteria.
