This medication was prescribed for my 5 month old to help treat her cough/runny nose. It worked great. Within 2-3 days her symptoms were relieved. However, she did have an increase in the side effects. She became constipated and very "cholicky." Within 2 days of stopping the medication her symptoms were relieved and she returned to normal.

I was given this medication for my 21-month old son, who had a chronic runny nose during the change from summer to fall. The medication worked great, he was prescribed 1/2 teaspoon every 6 hours. Watch for constipation, make sure fluids are given freely.
